Today, Monday 1st December, Jamaica may get the green light to proceed with the development of casino gambling on the island. The primary objective is to stimulate local tourism. Though met with mixed reviews, so far it has the approval of Finance Minister, Audley Shaw, and Prime Minister Bruce Golding.

Minister Shaw will address Cabinet today on the matter. if the policy is accepted by Cabinet and Parliament, casino Operators will be required to undergo a due diligence procedure in order to ensure full compliance. Online gambling is still a topic waiting in the wings to be discussed.
